Laser therapy for pets

Mehi Mobile Veterinary Services is pleased to offer Laser Therapy (photobiomodulation therapy) to treat a variety of conditions including pre-surgical, post-surgical, acute and chronic disease states.

Laser therapy is scientifically proven to target damaged cells and helps them regenerate more quickly. Much like sunlight helps a plant produce energy, laser therapy helps energize your pet's cells.

Benefits of healing with Laser Therapy

  • non-surgical
  • non-invasive
  • pain-free
  • effective, safe
  • short sessions (3-7 minutes on average)

How is treatment done?

Eye protection is used by both doctor and patient during treatment. Your pet will wear cute and comfortable "doggles" (bring your camera!). Using a handpiece fitted with either a contact or non-contact applicator (depending on your pet's condition) we deliver a carefully calibrated dose of light energy to reach damaged tissue.

What will my pet feel?

The laser delivers a gentle, soothing warmth. Most pets are very relaxed and some even fall asleep as their pain is eased.

What conditions are improved by Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is very versatile. It is proven to reduce pain and inflammation and to promote healing for

  • post-op recovery
  • trauma/pain
  • wounds, infections
  • osteoarthritis
  • degenerative joint disease
  • fractures, sprains, strains
  • urinary tract disorders
  • rhinitis/sinusitis
  • stomatitis
  • inflammatory bowel disease
  • lick granuloma
  • dental procedures
